Jon Berroya is the Vice President, Legal Affairs at the Entertainment Software Association (“ESA”), the U.S. association exclusively dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of companies that publish computer and video games for video game consoles, personal computers, mobile devices and the Internet.
Mr. Berroya is responsible for managing all aspects of ESA’s efforts to enforce its members’ intellectual property rights, and also counsels the association on cybersecurity and privacy issues. Prior to joining ESA, Mr. Berroya was Senior Director, Internet Enforcement at BSA | The Software Alliance. Mr. Berroya has also served as in-house counsel to Yahoo! Inc., represented many prominent social networking sites, Internet portals, and ISPs in connection with their online practices as a private practitioner, and he began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney's Office prosecuting crimes ranging from online stalking to drug trafficking.
